Last week

Last week I weighed in at 185.2. Tomorrow is my official weigh in but I am up one pound right now. It has been a tough week. I am babysitting more than expected - a 3 month old and a 2 yr old. This last week was also the last week of the semester - finals and a term paper. I am done for a few weeks now. Thank goodness. Now I need to get my house ready for my daughrer and her family - they will be here for 2 weeks. It is slow going with the kids here. This weekend my husband and I are taking off for the weekend to celebrate our 31st anniversary. Wow we have been married for a long time! I bought a treadmill and that has really helped with the exercise, although, this week I was more focused on school and let things slide a little. I'm hoping the scale looks better tomorrow. I can tell the holidays will be a little difficult for me. I am hoping to lose some weight still but even if I stay the same it will be an accomplishment!

Doing okay

I have been faithful about writing down my food for about 2 1/2 weeks now. I am tracking calories and trying to stay under 1500 right now. I had 2 days that I went over so I am okay with that. I have also cut way back on sugar so I am super excited about that achievment. Right now the couple things I am trying to do is stay under 1500 calories per day. When my weight drops a little, then the calories will drop also. I am trying to get in 6-8 glasses of water a day and exercise 5 times a day. Right now, the exercise is the tough part for me. My weight right now is 185 so I have lost 9 pounds from my highest weight which was about a month ago.

My husband left town today for 2 weeks so he will be gone for Thanksgiving. I am really disappointed but I have several of my kids in town and we will have fun. My poor husband though will probably be pretty bored.

I am still alive

So I had a very difficult time for awhile. I kept thinking I was so bad at handling stress but now that things have calmed down I realize that it was not stress but fear. My youngest had a very violent ex and it was a difficult time. My weight hit an all time high of 194 and now I am in the process of trying to get down again. Right now I am highly motivated and I am hoping to keep up the momentum.

I am weighing in over email with some friends from Washington State. Yesterdays weigh in was 188.6. I finally got under the 190 mark. I guess that is a little progress. At least the weight is moving in the right direction again...

unseen progress...

So I gained 4.6 pounds in the month of July. I really worked hard this week, especially on the between meal snacks. I also started recording my food again and I am following an old weight loss program. I was still up over a pound this week. I had no exercise. I guess this premenapause stuff is a real pain. My monthly visitor is so strong that I could not get any exercise in. (sigh) I am hoping that some of this weight is water weight but I am not counting on it. I am getting so close to the 200s that it is scaring me. I am afraid if I hit that number that there will be no turning back. I will keep up my program this week - and work in more physical activity. The school gym is closed between semesters so I will have to figure something else out. It is really hard to do anything at home with so many people living here and weird schedules to work around. However, when there is a will, there is a way. And sooner or later my changes have got to show on the scale...

The end of another semester...

This week I did not even think about weight loss. I got in some physical activity but not as much as I wanted. I went to the mountains twice and did a pretty good hike one day and a small one the next time. I had kids with me so could not do as much, but still, it was better than nothing. I got in one day at the gym. This week was spent finishing up projects, speeches, and finals for the semester and am glad that I got through it without another gain. I took lots of pics at the mountains and was pretty disgusted wtih the ones of me. I have to admit, I have been a bit of a fence sitter lately - not sure how badly I want to do this again. I spent an entire year working hard and lost 25 pounds. It felt great and I looked soooo much better. But then in a few months time, I put most of it back on. I guess right now I would like to give up but I keep posting weekly and weighing weekly so I guess I am not ready to give up. But I am obviously not sure how to proceed either. Snall goals or try to do a total change? I can't help but get a little scared either because of the medical problems that run in my family. I guess I am thinking out loud right now. I think I will pick a goal and work hard at it for one month. Then when I feel like I have mastered it, then move to another one. It can't be any worse than what I am doing and it is not such a daunting task when I look at it that way!

Goal for August - SNACKING - no more snacking if I am not hungry. If I am hungry, I will eat something nutririous.

This is probably my biggest down fall and it should be one of the easiest to master. Here is wishing me luck in August!

a better week

I had a better week. I worked things out at home and am back to the gym. I really like the workout. It always feels great when I am done. I am doing some weight and strength training and then I get in as much cardio as I can before they close - between 30-60 min. I have not been working real hard on my food choices right now. I am concentrating on habits - water, snacking, no late night eating, etc.I was down a pound yesterday but I was back up today. I had a late dinner last night (i try to avoid that but school sometimes interferes with my good intentions) so that may be myproblem. Anyway, I am not as discouraged as I have been but I sure would like to see the 170's again!

up again

Okay, so I am up again for the week (1.8 lbs) but I am actually feeling much better now. Once I lose my momentum it is a real struggle to get back on track. I have not totally given up sweets. I am on an ice cream kick right now. I haven't totally quit but I am only eating 1/2 cup at a time. It might not sound good but it is a huge improvement. I was really excited when I found the school gym but it is not working well with home life so still need to figure that out. Gotta go but feeling better.
